Site Ch-ch-ch-changes
Hey, we’ve made some changes we wanted to let you all know about, since there are a few things that work differently. We’ve been working hard to make the site sing as best we can, and we think these changes will make things more fun for you — and us, too!
First off, “goals” are now all called “challenges”, and “challenges” are now “competitions.”
We changed the names because competitions are now created by staff members, and we’re working to create partnerships with other sites and companies so our competitions can be fun and award cool, interesting prizes — though that’s not why we’re all here, is it? :)
Challenges are now simplified
You’re either doing them, or you’re done. But you can comment on a challenge, add an entry, or leave a reply regardless of whether you’re participating or not. So, leave lots of feedback and be sure to cheer other members on. And don’t worry, your entries won’t be deleted if you drop out of a challenge.
Competitions: How they work now
The old challenges are now gone, replaced with competitions. It was a hard decision, but we felt like focusing all community activity in one challenges section (vs. goals and challenges) was the way to go.
Now, competitions are a chance for everyone to come together and show off. We’ll create a task for everyone to accomplish. You’ll submit your entries, based on the task we’ve outlined. Then a hand-picked panel of judges will choose who’s the winner. We’re going to try and choose winners based on different criteria, so everyone always has a chance to win and share in the fun.
Posting: Quick Comments
You can leave a quick entry on any challenge or competition. Just click the “comment” button, and a form will appear like magic right there on the page. It’s not as tricked out as our regular posting form, but sometimes, it’s just the trick.
Posting: The Bookmarklet
We strongly suggest you check out the bookmarklet. It’s way cool. Just copy the link into your browser, and you can easily post from any Web page in your browser. You have the choice to create a link or an image post — try it out, it’s a fun and super-fast way to share all the great things you find out there on the InterWeb.
Feedback: We want it!
As always, we’re just starting out and have simplified the site so it’s easier to use, but we have lots of ideas for features to add in the future (some of which we’re working on already). If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, share them with us in our feedback forum.
