The Bookmarklet

Browser Requirements: Firefox 2+, Internet Explorer 7+

Imagine you’re surfing the Web and you find a great Web page you’d like to post to one of your goals? Wouldn’t it be great if you could just click a button and save that page without having to go to Compete to Conserve first? That’s where our bookmarklet can help!

Drag the QuickPost bookmarklet link below up to your browser or links bar, then click on it to add the site you’re currently viewing as an entry on Compete to Conserve. Using Internet Explorer? See below for help.

How does it work?
When you click on the bookmarklet, it opens up a window on top of the Web page you’re viewing. You now have two choices, you can create a link post or an image post:

  • Create a Link Post: Click “Post to CTC as a Link” and the entry form should appear with details filled in. Add a description if you like. You can also assign this entry to one of your goals.
  • Create an Image Post: Usable images on the page will be highlighted with a green dashed border. Click on one and the entry form you appear with details filled in. Add a description and assign this entry to one of your goals, if you want.
  • The Post form is blank? Try clicking on the link or the image again.
  • Not logged in? The bookmarklet will prompt you to log in, if you’re not already. Once you enter in your username and password correctly, it will take you to the entry form.
